Position will facilitate to: –
Development:
1. Facilitate product development as per safety standards and applicable regulations for Drones, Robotics, Soil mapping and variable rate input applications
2. Develop competitive precision farming product portfolio insights from agronomy point of view, while quantifying the value propositions established by precision farming machines/pilots and initiatives
3. Developing protocols for efficient execution of Precision Farming projects in Drones, low volume chemicals, Robots, soil mapping system and variable rate nutrient and crop protection applications
4. Develop insights how farmers at rural places might evaluate precision farming, analyse customer needs and determine system requirements
5. Devise validation protocols & support for field evaluations from agronomy perspective
6. Facilitate set up Centre of Excellence in Nagpur
Operational:
1. Monitoring and ensuring schedule adherence towards project deliverables and execute agronomy deliverables to meet the end scope of project
2. Work with Precision Farming team to coordinate with GTM team for pilot implementation and quantify the value proposition of pilot from agronomy point of view
3. Visiting fields to monitor project and to collect primary data on project deliverables.
4. Define a robust verification and validation plan, and execute testing/validation and, thus
deliver a more reliable & robust output from agronomy point of view
Collaboration:
1. Liaison with different agri institutes like universities, KVK, ICAR and research stations for
project effectiveness and project deliveries
2. Keep abreast of government regulations and emerging technology trends, cultivars to support precision farming projects
3. Project evaluation and certification from third party MIS Solution:
1. Capturing and managing information and data along with data analysis and report preparation.
2. Capturing and maintaining competition information database, MIS for reference.
3. Solution to queries, doubts and concerns related to Agronomy.
4. Generating reports and presenting findings to management, clients, colleagues or other
interested parties.
Experience: 2 to 5 years
Qualification: M.Sc. / Ph. D in Agronomy / Plant Pathology / Soil Science / Entomology
Skills required-
1. Person should have understanding about new age technologies in precision agriculture like
drone, robot, IOT, AI, ML etc. (Should know what these technologies are and how they are impacting agriculture)
2. Should be willing to explore and learn about new technologies and solutions getting
developed across the world
3. Should have systematic approach to understand and solve the problems/challenges arises during development of precision farming project and during validation of solutions
4. Should understand have expert skills on agronomic practices of crop growing, soil science, nutrition management, crop protection and input requirements in different stages of crop growth for strategic crops like Potato, Hot pepper, Rice, Sugarcane, Grapes, Wheat, Maize, Cotton and Soya bean
