Job Summary:
non-destructive test/inspection on aircraft structure and components using penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, ultrasonic, radiography and infrared thermography methods.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Examine the structure and components of an aircraft for defects on the surface, sub-surface in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, aviation regulations and MRO’s policies and procedures.
- Performing NDT inspections on aircraft and aircraft products in a wide range of work environments including heavy maintenance operations, line operations, and other operations as required supporting the commercial operations.
- Performing general servicing and routine testing on NDT equipment to ensure equipment is maintained to a high level of readiness and performance standards.
- Performing NDT equipment setup and calibration using standard defect samples.
- Making entries on technical records to document NDT inspections and other work performed including references to technical data used.
- Documenting partially completed work on technical records and in shift change-over logs to ensure continuity on inspection responsibilities is maintained.
- Perform all other duties assigned by NDT shop supervisor.
